Building sizes (FAQ section)
There is no limit to the length of a temporary building. Depending on the distance between the trusses, the length can be selected as required. Depending on the statics, we offer truss spacings of 4 m or 5 m. The lengths can therefore be chosen within this grid.
When creating our building solutions, we use a standardised modular system that uses eave heights of 3.4 / 4.4 / 5.4 / 6.4 m. The length can be selected as required within a grid of 4 m or 5 m, while our standard building widths range from 5 m to 40 m in a single-aisle design. We can also draw up special measurements as required, for which our engineers will calculate new statics. For enquiries not covered by our standard models, we are happy to visit your premises to discuss our various options with you.
Building width is the distance between the building’s columns. This is measured from the centre of the columns. Clear width is simply the distance between the columns – measured on the inner edges. Please note that for the total width of the building, the outer edges of the anchor plate and a change in the centre distance regarding the original statics (maximum 14 cm) must be taken into account. Our widest anchor plate adds an extra 71 cm, which means you will need to add a maximum of 85 cm to your building width.
Yes! Multi-aisle buildings are easy to construct. We build temporary buildings with a width of up to 40 m in a single-aisle design. Widths exceeding this are built in a multi-aisle design.
In a multi-aisle design, different building sizes can be combined. The individual aisles can be created in different widths (up to 40 m) or lengths (within a grid of 4 m or 5 m). Our engineers will work with you to design a building tailored to your exact requirements.
Yes! It is possible to build the temporary building to connect to directly onto an existing building. The distance from existing buildings must usually be generally needs to be at least 15 m. With hard roofing however, this distance can be reduced. Our Heba-Dach+ roof tarpaulin is resistant to heat and flying sparks and can be used as hard roofing to allow a temporary building to be built adjacent to a permanent building.
Whether you want to buy or rent a Herchenbach temporary building, it can be erected on a slope of up to 1.5%. In this case, there is no need to shorten the building’s columns as the slope is taken into account in the statics. If the slope is greater than 1.5%, when the building is purchased, we will shorten the building columns at the bottom by a few centimetres to compensate for the slope. Our Herchenbach engineers will calculate the amounts by which the columns need to be shortened, so that the building can be assembled without any statics issues.
The wind and snow loads affecting the temporary building depend on the location in which the building is to be erected. Herchenbach temporary buildings are designed to cope with high wind and snow loads. The expected snow load determines the profile that will be used for the building’s frame. The wind load determines the type and number of ground spikes or the type of anchoring. Wind and snow loads have already been taken into consideration in our statics. We offer building solutions for coastal areas and snow zones that can withstand wind loads of up to 1.0 kN/m² and snow loads of up to 1.35 kN/m².
